Eligibility Criteria
- Passed Class 10th or 12th with at least 60% marks or equivalent CGPA in recent academic sessions
- Admitted to first year of Medicine, Engineering, Graduation, Integrated, Diploma or Vocational Courses
- Parents/guardian's annual gross income from all sources not exceeding ₹4,50,000
- Regular course of study in a recognized government/private institution in India
Documents Required
- Academic Records: Class 10 / Class 12 marksheet (as applicable) showing at least 60% marks or equivalent CGPA for AY 2023-24/2024-25/2025-26.
- Admission Proof: Proof of admission for AY 2026-27 into the relevant course — Medicine, Engineering, Graduation, Diploma, Vocational/ITI, or Intermediate/10+2.
- Income Certificate: Issued by a competent Revenue Authority (Tehsildar, District Magistrate, Deputy Commissioner, Collector, etc.), stating annual gross income of both parents from all sources including agricultural income.
- Bank Account Details: Active bank account details, IFSC code, and a copy of a cancelled cheque with the beneficiary's name (compulsory for NEFT transfer).
- Identity Documents: PAN and E-Aadhaar Card, which the candidate authorises LIC GJF to use for processing the application.
- Additional Documents: School/College Leaving or Transfer/Migration Certificate (if applicable), and category certificate where relevant.

- Choose your scholarship type: Select General Scholarship (after Class 12th/Diploma) or Special Scholarship (after Class 10th), based on your current stage.
- Fill the online application: Enter academic, personal and family income details accurately. Only online applications are accepted.
- Upload required documents: Attach marksheets, admission proof, income certificate, and bank account details including a cancelled cheque.
- Submit and receive acknowledgement: After submission you'll receive an acknowledgement email confirming which LIC Divisional Office will handle your application.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Is this scholarship only for new applicants?
- The rates listed apply to new entrants. Students already receiving the LIC GJF scholarship from earlier years continue to draw it at the rate fixed at the time of their original selection until course completion.
- How are candidates selected?
- Short-listing and final selection are done purely on merit, based on the percentage of marks in Class 12th or 10th as applicable. In case of a tie, preference goes to the candidate whose parents have lower income.
- Is this scholarship available for post-graduation?
- No — this scholarship is not meant for post-graduation studies, though Integrated courses combining Graduation and Post Graduation remain eligible for the full duration of the course.
- How many scholarships are awarded overall?
- Each of LIC's 112 Divisional Offices selects up to 120 students — 80 for General Scholarship (40 boys + 40 girls) and 40 for Special Scholarship (20 boys + 20 girls), subject to a centralised overall cap.
- Is there any application fee?
- No. Genuine scholarship applications, including this one, do not require any payment. Applications are submitted only through the official link at licindia.in.
